Collection Development Policy
The Archives of the City of Kingsport collects all materials, published and unpublished, relevant to the history of the City of Kingsport. This includes the papers and photographs of individuals, industry, business, and government. (Papers and records include, but are in no way restricted to, government records, files of correspondence, diaries, scrapbooks, photographs, business records, and recordings.) In documenting the history of Kingsport, the archives seeks to acquire materials, published and unpublished, that concern the history of Kingsport and the lives of its inhabitants. This may also include feature articles, newsletters, and journals. Material is not accepted on loan. On limited occasions, donors may place certain restrictions upon the use of papers and materials. This must be mutually acceptable to the donor and the Archives of the City of Kingsport.
