 SCOPE AND CONTENT

The Boatyard Cemetery Maintenance Collection consists of correspondence and clippings related to a decision by the City of Kingsport, Tennessee on 4 October 1988 to assume the care and maintenance of the landmark cemetery.  Correspondence was composed by Tom Gannaway (Historic Zoning Commissioner), Hunter W. Wright (Mayor), and Margaret Wimberly (city resident) and discussed the Board of Mayor and Aldermen’s decision to care for the property.
