BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL NOTE
The Dixie Study Club was organized in March 1939 to study southern literature and southern personalities. Membership in the club was limited to women from southern states.

SCOPE AND CONTENT
The Dorothy Sullivan Hale Collection primarily contains information on the Dixie Study Club. The collection consists of two scrapbooks, minutes of meetings, attendance records, photographs, newspaper clippings, yearbooks, and papers written by members. Included in the collection are photocopies of photographs from Armistice Day, 1918 and photographs of a senior class play.
