ABSTRACT:
The Kingsport Chamber of Commerce, Industrial Action Council Collection consists of materials once bound together to from an information packet and other miscellaneous brochures and publications promoting Kingsport and Tennessee.  The binder packet was divided into the following sections by its creator: Community Data, Site Data, Labor, Utilities, Transportation, and Taxes.  Information in the site data section details nine locations in the Kingsport area and greater Sullivan County.  Details on local labor concern the number of available workers and prevailing wage rates.  Data in the utilities section mainly pertains to power companies.  However, there are some letters and reports referring to the Holston River’s North and South forks.  These detail water flow rates, analysis of the river’s mineral constituents, temperature, alkalinity, hardness, pH, and turpidity.
