Provenance: Initial materials were donated by Julie Bailey in April 1997. Additional donations were made by Mike Billingsley in August 1998 and by Carol Robinette in September 1998.

Access/Restrictions: There are no restrictions on use of this collection for research purposes. The researcher assumes full responsibility for observing all copyright, property, and libel laws as they apply.

Processed by: Initial processing of the collection was done by archives staff prior to 2008. Additional processing and development of the finding aid was done by Kate Lukach, archives assistant, in June 2008.

SCOPE AND CONTENT

This collection consists of reports, booklets, proposals, correspondence, schedule books, magazines, meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, and other documents created by and pertaining to the Office of the City Manager.  There are also extensive materials concerning the proposed civic center that was never built. The collection consists of two series: Subject Files and Civic Center Files.

 

SERIES DESCRIPTIONS

Series I, Subject Files, c.1943-2002 and undated, box 1-9.

This series consists of reports, booklets, proposals, correspondence, schedule books, magazines, meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, and other documents created by and pertaining to the Office of the City Manager.  The series is arranged in its original order.

Series II, Civic Center Files, c.1966-1988 and undated, box 10-17 and Folder 1.

This series consists of meeting minutes, brochures, plans, correspondence, reports, and other documents pertaining to the proposed civic center. The series is arranged alphabetically by subject.
