Nic Earnest Collection of Newspapers and Publications, June 9, 1855-1967

KC Manuscript Collection 175

ABSTRACT:
The collection contains printed materials collected by Nic Earnest.  Items consist in part of 19th century newspapers including one from 1855, several dating from 1861, and a prohibition newspaper from 1889.  One newspaper article about Andrew Johnson probably dates from 1901.  Also included are a pamphlet published in 1860 entitled “The National Crisis,” the 1874 manual of Holston Presbytery, and an oversize publicity publication created by Kingsport Utilities highlighting the history of Kingsport.
