Sons of Temperance, Reedy Creek Division Ledger, 1874-1878

ABSTRACT:
The Sons of Temperance, Reedy Creek Division collection consists of one ledger covering the period between 1874 and 1878.  The ledger consists of meeting minutes.  The division’s mission was “staying the tide of disipation [sic] [of alcohol] to a very great degree, and completely closing out the manufacture of the deadly poison in our immediate community. . . .”  Some ledger pages are missing while others are partially covered with newspaper clippings.  The organization’s preamble and resolutions can be found on pages 148-50.
