Heritage Quest:
Collection of over 25,000 family history books and the U.S. Census from 1790 through 1930. Also includes the Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Application Files and Freedman's BankRecords.


Ancestry Library
The Ancestry Library Edition collection has approximately 4,000 databases including key collections such as U.S. Federal Census images and indexes from 1790 to 1930; the Map Center containing more than 1,000 historical maps; American Genealogical Biographical Index (over 200 volumes); Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage (over 150 volumes); The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1630; Social Security Death Index (updated monthly); WWI Draft Registration Cards; Federal Slave Narratives; and a strong Civil War collection. Please note: This resource is available only on the computers from inside the Kingsport Public Library – it is NOT available to you at home or work through our Web site.



Newspaper Archive;
Includes the Kingsport newspapers from 1916-1977.  Contains other searchable newspapers dating as far back as the 1700s - the world's largest archive of online newspapers. Test preparation materials and interactive practice exams, including GED, GRE, ACT, SAT, ASVAB, Praxis, TOEFL, and skills improvement courses (with Spanish instructions.) How do you use it? Users need to sign up as a “New User” the first time they access the service, Returning users can login with their username and password.
