Provenance: The Kingsport Rotary Club Collection was donated to the Archives of the City of Kingsport by Bill Freehoff in July 2000. Additions to the collection were made by John Porter in September 2008, January and March 2009, and May 2013.
Access/Restrictions: There are no restrictions on use of this collection for research purposes. The researcher assumes full responsibility for observing all copyright, property, and libel laws as they apply.

SCOPE AND CONTENT
The Kingsport Rotary Club Collection consists of files related to the development of the Kingsport chapter of the Rotary International Club. The collection contains club rosters, membership cards, miscellaneous correspondence, newsletters, photographs, and miscellaneous publications.
The Kingsport Rotary Club Collection is divided into six series as follows: Series I, W.F. Winders Personal Files, 1945-1978, Box 1; Series II, Subject Files, 1927-Present, Boxes 2-3; Series III, Photographs, 1947-2003, Box 3; Series IV, Minutes and Reports, 1920-1950, Boxes 4-5; Series V, Membership Directories and Rosters, 1928-Present, Boxes 6-7 and Series VI, Newsletters (“COGS”), 1942-2008, Boxes 8-10.
SERIES DESCRIPTIONS
Series I, W.F. Winders Personal Files, 1945-1978, Box 1
Series I contains files collected and maintained by William Flemmon (W.F) Winders. W.F. Winders was a vice president at Eastman and worked for the company for forty years and was a long time member of the Kingsport Rotary Club. The series contains information about the Rotary Club during his time as president and secretary. The series is arranged in chronological order.
Series II, Subject Files, 1927-Present, Boxes 2-3
Series II consists of general subject files on the Kingsport Rotary Club. The series contains information on programs and events, district conferences, awards, anniversaries and miscellaneous materials. Included in the series is information on various committees and the constitution and by-laws of the club. The series is arranged in alphabetically by subject.
Series III, Photographs, 1947-2004, Box 3
Series III contains photographs of a girl scout camp, club events, and Rotarians. The series is arranged alphabetically by subject.
Series IV, Minutes and Reports, 1920-1950, Boxes 4-5
Series IV contains minutes of meetings and various reports. Included are membership cards and applications. The minute book folders also contain early editions of the newsletter “COGS” as well as correspondence and miscellaneous materials. The series is arranged in chronological order.
Series V, Membership Directories and Rosters, 1928-Present, Boxes 6-7
Series V consists of membership directories and rosters. The majority of the directories are for the Kingsport Rotary Club although there are some from the regional District 7570 that the Kingsport club belongs to. The series is arranged in chronological order
Series VI, Newsletters (“COGS”), 1942-2008, Boxes 8-10
Series VI contains issues of the Kingsport Rotary Club newsletter, “Cogs”. The newsletters contain information on meetings, events, attendance, members and general club information. Earlier editions of the newsletters can be found in the minute book folders in Series IV. The series is arranged in chronological order.
Series VII, Additions, 1998 and Ongoing, Box 11
Series VII was initiated because of a donation of photographs provided in November 2012. Future additions will be included in this series.
