ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION
Provenance: The Kingsport Theatre Guild Collection was donated to the Archives of the City of Kingsport by S.M. Feagins, on behalf of the Kingsport Theatre Guild, in March 2004. Additions to the collection were donated by Angie Hyche in February 2009 and again in September 2009. Further additions were made in 2011.
Access/Restrictions: There are no restrictions on use of this collection for research purposes. The researcher assumes full responsibility for observing all copyright, property, and libel laws as they apply.
Processed by: This collection was initially processed in 2004 by archives staff. Additional processing was done by Brianne Wright and the collection was opened for research in March 2009. The 2011 additions were processed by Kari Roueche.

BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL NOTE
The Kingsport Theatre Guild (KTG) is a non-profit volunteer organization of people interested in community theatre. One of the oldest community theatres in the state, the Kingsport Theatre Guild formed in 1947 and presented its first formal offering, “Yes and No.” Through the years, the Guild has performed in a variety of venues, including a barn on Eden’s Ridge, school auditoriums, church fellowship halls, a community center on Sullivan Street, a Fine Arts Center on Church Circle, and, currently, at the Kingsport Renaissance Center.
SCOPE AND CONTENT
The Kingsport Theatre Guild Collection contains information and production photographs of various programs produced by the Kingsport Theatre Guild. The collection includes information on the productions themselves, as well as workshops, meeting minutes, newsletters, and a Fine Arts Center.
The collection is divided into four series as follows; Series I, Subject Files, 1939-1993 and undated, Boxes 1-3; Series II, Photographs,1952-1966 and undated, Boxes 4-5; Series III, Ledgers, 1947-1962, Box 6; Series IV, Production and Performance Files, 1947-1994 and undated, Boxes 7-9.
The 2011 additions were not incorporated into the original four series. The additions range in date from 1986-1999 and include production notes, programs, and publicity stills and clippings.

Series I, Subject Files, 1939-1993 and undated, Boxes 1-3
Series I contains general information on KTG and the Fine Arts Center. The series also contains guild newsletter, minutes of the planning committee, and information on the Tennessee Arts Commission. The series is arranged in alphabetical order by subject.
Series II, Photographs, 1952-1966 and undated, Boxes 4-5
Series II contains photographs from rehearsals, performances, and various other events sponsored by the Kingsport Theatre Guild. The series is arranged in chronological order.

Series III consists of 2 ledgers that contain meeting minutes and various KTG information. The ledgers are arranged chronologically.
Series IV, Production and Performance Files, 1947-1994 and undated, Boxes 7-9
Series IV consists of production and performance files. Information includes programs, publicity, newspaper clippings, photographs of performances and information on specific plays. The series is arranged in chronological order.
