Pearson and Davis Families Papers, 1839-1887

ABSTRACT:
The Pearson and Davis Families lived in the area of modern day Kingsport,Tennessee at the time of the American Civil War.  Several of the documents in the collection date from that period including handwritten song lyrics and James Davis’ discharge papers.  Other manuscripts include the marriage certificate of a member of the Pearson family to Elizabeth Davis, land deeds, and the Resolution and By-Laws of Beech Grove Prohibition Club.
