ABSTRACT:
The Southern Coach & Athlete collection consists of one magazine with specific articles about the athletic and fitness programs at Dobyns-Bennett High School in Kingsport, Tennessee from February 1947.  In this publication, there are articles by several Kingsporters including Ed Shockey, William “Red” Yancey, John Horvath, Margaret Butler, and Charles Robinson.  Sports discussed are primarily football and basketball although Butler described the school’s overall activities programming.
