Cherry Hill Tornado

A scene from the aftermath of the March 14, 1933 Cherry Hill Tornado in Kingsport.  The tornado caused the deaths of eight people. The Red Cross and the Salvation Army established relief stations to handle the emergency, and local physicians worked through the night and following day to help those hurt by the storm. Tennessee’s State Legislature provided $10,000 in aid to the victims.
