SCOPE AND CONTENT
This collection consists of files maintained by the city’s Public Information Office during the third and fourth terms of Mayor Hunter Wright (1985-1995).  A large portion of these files consists of news clippings from the Kingsport Times-News reporting civic activities.  There are also copies of news releases and copies of the city-produced publication “Kingsport City Desk.”  In addition there are miscellaneous photographs taken throughout the city featuring various views of projects, streets, structures, and events.  There are several items and publications related to the city’s 75th anniversary.  In 1995, Community Relations assumed the duties of the Public Information Office.
