BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL NOTE

Margaret Bays, a music instructor at Andrew Johnson School, was involved in the planning and implementation of brining the Russian Children’s Choir “Sokolyata”. The choir, from Kingsport’s sister city Rybinsk, performed at Andrew Johnson School on February 7, 1995. The 24 member choir was directed by Sergnei Chesterikov. During their visit to the United States they also performed throughout the Tri-Cities.
