Provenance: The Patsy Archer Collection was donated to the Archives of the City of Kingsport by Patsy Archer, granddaughter of James Miller, in June 1999. Additional donations were made in 2000.

SCOPE AND CONTENT

The Patsy Archer Collection contains information on the Miller, Parrott, Lamons, and Sells families. The collection consists of photographs, documents, and newspaper clippings. Included in the collection is information on the Lamons Wagon Company, Greeneville, Tenn.

The collection is arranged into two series as follow; Series I, Subject Files, 1895-1998 and undated, Folders 1-20; Series II, Photographs, 1909 and undated, Folders 21-26.

SERIES DESCRIPTIONS

Series I, Subject Files, 1895-1998, Folders 1-20

Series I contains files on the Miller, Parrott, and Sells families. Included are newspaper clippings, In remembrance cards, and correspondence. The series also includes the City of Kingsport newsletter, “City Desk.” Materials relating to J.E. Miller include his postmaster card dated 1930 and a copy of a letter sent to Mr. and Mrs. Parrott asking for permission to marry their daughter Bertha. The series is arranged alphabetically by subject file.

Series II consists of photographs of members of the Miller, Parrott and Sells families.
