Cherry Hill Disaster, Sheet Music, undated

The “Cherry Hill Disaster” Sheet Music consists of one page of sheet music composed by Carroll Skeen (music) and Ola Everhart (words).  The song describes the March 14, 1933 tornado that hit the Cherry Hill section of Kingsport, Tennessee killing eight people and injuring hundreds.  The Red Cross and the Salvation Army established relief stations to handle the emergency, and local physicians worked through the night and following day to help those hurt by the storm.  Tennessee’s State Legislature provided $10,000 in aid to the victims.  Skeen and Everhart wanted proceeds from song’s sales to aid the relief efforts.
