Clifford Family Scrapbooks, c. 1915-early 1920s

KC Manuscript Collection 140

ABSTRACT:
The Clifford Family Scrapbooks collection consists of two scrapbooks filled with family photographs taken during the later nineteen-teens and early 1920s.  Images include numerous shots of family members in and around Kingsport, Tennessee.  Views of family vacations to places such as San Antonio, Texas, San Francisco, California, Washington, D.C., and an unidentified beach consist of the bulk of these materials.  In addition, there are military training photographs showing men training to fight the “Hun.”  Although most local pictures pertain directly to individuals, a few images show Rotherwood, the original First Baptist Church building along with a portion of Church Circle, and an entry-way into Andrew Jackson Elementary   School.  Almost all images are undated and unidentified.
