Katuah Earth First-Fight King Coal Flyer, September 9-10, 2006

KC Manuscript Collection 153

ABSTRACT:
The Katuah Earth First collection consists of one flyer concerning the organization’s plans to protest a meeting of the Eastern Coal Council at Meadowview Convention Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.  Activities included a screening of the 90-minute documentary Black Diamonds along with providing information on direct action and legal training.  Both of these events were to be held in Johnson City, Tennessee.  Katuah Earth First sought “to defend the mountains and people of Southern Appalachia from some of the worst environmental abuses in the country” according to the group’s website.
