Seaver Family Collection, 1955-1980 and 1999

KC Manuscript Collection 170

The Seaver Family Collection contains a scrapbook, loose photographs, a Girl Scout cookbook, and newspaper clippings collected by Geraldine “Gerri” Byrd.  Geraldine’s father, Charles Seaver, worked as a guard at Tennessee Eastman.  His wife, Leila, created the scrapbook of Tennessee Eastman News clippings.  Although the scrapbook dates from the 1970s-1980, it also contains the obituaries of men killed in the 1960 explosion, dated 13 October 1960.  Photographs include many unrelated pictures of people and buildings including images of students at Lincoln Elementary and Ross N. Robinson Junior High.  Folders are arranged alphabetically and are housed in the same box as the scrapbook.

There are no restrictions on use of this collection for research purposes. The researcher assumes full responsibility for observing all copyright, property, and libel laws as they apply.
