BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL NOTE
The Soap Box Derby car was built, entered, and driven by Thomas E. Mottern. The sponsor of the car was Gibbons Lumber Company. This particular derby car raced in the 1968 competition that was held near the intersection of John B. Dennis Road near the intersection with Wilcox Drive. The derby car is on permanent display.
