KC Manuscript Collection 151
This collection consists of one political broadside regarding Kingsport Sessions Court Judge S.G. Gilbreath’s appropriateness to be reelected around 1958. The publication was released by a group calling itself “A Group of Citizens Interested in Just and Equal Law Enforcement.” Throughout the document, Gilbreath is accused of mistreating citizens and of being a raging alcoholic. The group claimed to have all statements backed by signed legal affidavits stored “in a safety deposit box at a Kingsport bank.”
