The Archives, located in the library’s lower level, houses papers and photographs of individuals, organizations, industry, business, and non-current City records pertaining to the history of the City of Kingsport for preservation and research purposes.

THIS ONE OF A KIND VHS WAS REPRODUCED FROM A FILM MADE IN THE EARLY 1950'S AND SHOWS THE KINGSPORT OF YESTERYEAR.

Own a piece of Kingsport history! This unique film, Kingsport 1950, was produced by the United States Information Agency, under the direction of Knickerbacker Studios. Back then the government wanted to lure Europeans to the Model City. Now the film serves as a fascinating look back at Kingsport's past. It features local citizens and focuses on prominent town landmarks - Broad Street, Civic Auditorium, Church Circle, and many street scenes and historic neighborhoods.
